Life Lessons by Aunt Molly

A new series of blog posts will come as inspired by Aunt Molly.  She frequently teaches them little lessons and she calls them, "Life Lessons".  We all love them, and since she doesn't blog, I thought I would include them in my own blog so when we print to book the kids have them to refer back to.  Here is a recent one:

I was told by one of the babies the other day that having a stuffed animal when you are as old as a 4th grader is a bad thing. I would disagree with this completely. I am 27 years old and when I am not traveling and in my home, I cant even watch a movie with my roomate without Sanfor the bear. Having something that means something to you is an amzing thing, if it is comforting to you....do it. If when you look at it, and it makes you smile....do it. No matter what other people think, you are you and this is the person that should be accepted. If you your friends dont like it, they were never real friends to begin with.

Sometimes I wonder where my kids hear these things.  Now, personally, I'm not a fan of stuffed animals.  That is another evidence of my age, I suppose.  As a kid I loved them, and they came alive to me.  I still remember the pink bunny I found in the trash and my mother so lovingly allowed me to keep.  Thanks, Mom!  I think after reading the Velveteen Rabbit I was turned off of stuffed animals because of the chance they'll hold germs or other grossness.  I am much more accepting of new stuffed animals...not garage sale hand-me-downs.  :)
