Nicole had a great day yesterday. She chose most of her day's activities and meals and it was a great day for all of us. One decade of being a mother has had it's wonders and challenges and as I reflected on our lives this past decade with sweet Nicole I felt such joy. We are blessed beyond comprehension! Nicole chose strawberry shortcake and sherbert for dessert. It was very yummy!
We skyped Aunt Molly for the birthday song and gift opening. Everyone was gathering around the computer to talk with her, and I was marveling at technology. What an amazing time we live in!!
Nathan wanted in on the skype action and so Papa Fraser held him in front of the camera upside down. Good fun!
Grandma and Alex played ball with the babies and can you see Jeannie's baby bump? Did I mention she's having a BOY?!! We can hardly wait, and I love to see her tummy get bigger and bigger.
When we have moments like the one above, my heart wants to burst. All of the kids gathered together in excitement over gifts, cards and words of love spoken to each other. Alison's homemade birthday card to Nicole was the sweetest thing ever, and Damian, Garret and Cayden each also made homemade birthday cards for Coley that were touching. These little boys are so fun to have around, and they are just as sweet as the girls! We are blessed to have them in our family. Notice Heidi holding the laptop - there's Aunt Molly!
For lunch Nicole wanted fondue, and so that is what we did. They loved it and didn't notice how awful I am at fondue. :) I love the innocence of youth. They think I'm amazing. Hahaha!
Aunt Molly took the kids out to get manicures and pedicures when she was here last week. Nicole's toes still look great, and her feet looked so cute yesterday so I took a picture. Now we will always remember what her feet looked like when she was ten.
:)
Awww, how beautiful !! Happy Birthday to my sweet cousin Nicole !! I love you :)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely sounds like she had an awesome day, surrounded by the ones she loves.

ReplyDeleteSorry Sophie! I've been in my own little world since school started...I'll have to do better to keep you in the loop! Jeannie is due in April. :) Good stuff, eh? I'm working on the blog thing...always thinking of ya SophIE. I love you!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Nicole had a happy, family filled day...just how I would want my birthday to be. I have to tell you, strawberry shortcake is my absolute favorite and I've had it every year for my birthday since forever. My second dessert choice (sometimes my sweet mom would make 2 desserts) is this yummy blend of sherbet and fruit. Awww...love it. Just thought it was fun that Nicole and I seem to like some of the same things. :) Love you! ~Lindsey
ReplyDeleteLindsey! That's so cool! Sherbert is Nicole's favorite thing...and anything fresh and fruity....I would love the sherbert/fruit recipe, if you have it...sounds like somethingNicole would LOVE! :) Yes, I love finding similarities like that, too. It's just fun! Love, Elaine
