A few rather random events led me to this news this morning. Many of you might remember that I spoke of Krista Oakes a few years ago when she was diagnosed with Stage IV glioblastoma in November of 2005. She had a 6 month old baby girl and a young son, and many prayed earnestly on her behalf that her life would be lengthened. And it was.
She lived 5 years past her diagnosis, a miracle. She passed away last Friday.
My heart is heavy, but I am so thankful I knew her, and was strengthened by her. She was a bright light in many dark days for me. She wrote a book, called "Fertile in our Faith" that spoke of the difficulties of infertility, but focused on different ways to become fertile.
I never met her, I just learned from her when I was a member of the group 2ofus4now, an LDS infertility/adoption support group, but she touched my life in very real way.
Thanks, Krista. Heaven rejoices that you're home again.
