Soul Altars

“Your task… to build a better world”, God said.
I answered, “How?
The world is such a large, vast place
so complicated now.
And I so small and useless am;
there’s nothing I can do”.
But God in all his wisdom said,
“Just build a better you.”

This is what I am trying to do, every single day.  Some days and weeks it feels much harder than other days and weeks, but I keep trying and every time I fall down I stand back up and begin anew.  I'm so thankful for my Heavenly Father!  He sent His son to help me become a better person. 

I am finally reading Les Miserables.  I loved this quote:  "The most beautiful of altars," he said, "is the soul of an unhappy man who is comforted and thanks God."  Although I am mostly happy with myself, there are time when I struggle under the weight of my weaknesses and I begin to feel discouraged.  It is during those times that I ALWAYS feel the love of my Heavenly Father, reminding me that I am His daughter and that my worth is infinite.  He ALWAYS comforts my soul, and I am thankful for that.
