I had a friend from my ward (congregation at church) call me today to ask me if I wanted some boxes. She asked me when she could come help me out, and I couldn't come up with anything. I have several friends who have offered to help me, and I can't figure out when to make that happen. As I began listing off the things that I had going on over the past month and into the next few weeks, she started laughing at me, and said that my life could become a reality T.V. show. It made me laugh, too, and I thought, for record's sake, I'll put what we've done over the past few weeks, and what we have coming up. It's really is insane, and perhaps that white room she spoke of will come to pass?
Between getting the house ready for sale, meetings and phone calls with realtors and mortgage brokers, dance and choir and piano recitals, showing the house, birthday parties, homeschool, young women and Sunday School president and familial responsibilities, oh ya, let's not forget Christmas, we thought life was busy. We have been hanging on by a thread, sometimes a bit tense.
Then last week we were OVERJOYED to have Cassidy's birthmother (Angela) come to visit us. She brought her husband (Loyd) with her, and her sister (Syvlia) and her brother in law (Jake), and her two nieces (Tori and Macy) with her as well. We had such a great time! It was a MUCH NEEDED stopping point for us in life. We just hung out, and ate, and talked. It was so nice. They stayed a few extra days because a storm blew in and they couldn't make it home. We got to spend New Year's Eve together, and they celebrated Jeannie's birthday with us, as well as met the Joyal's and partook of their Cincinnati Chili (a fun tradition) and my homemade noodles (Oh I love my kitchenaid!). We ate biscuits and gravy for breakfast, that was a first for me! They met our families (most of them, anyway). We've visited them before, but this was the first time they visited us in our home.
Once New Year's passed, we hit the ground running. I taught all of the YW on the following Sunday and we kicked off our new year. We also had to pick up the house and get it back to showing-quality since the appraiser and buyers came on Tuesday to measure and look again. We also started homeschool again.
Tomorrow Sylvia returns with 1 year old Macy for 5 days. Sylvia is taking a Hypno-birthing class in Longmont and will be staying with us, and I will be watching Macy during her classes. I'm so excited to spend some more time together.
When Sylvia leaves, we will have 5 days of watching my neighbors 17 dogs. Yes, you read that right. She has 20 something dogs, but a few of them will go to other homes. She rescues chihuahua's and has the biggest heart I know of. She loves them, and adopts the ones who aren't being adopted. It's her passion in life, and I love her. She's one of the best neighbors we've ever had. A couple of months ago we watched 13 of her dogs and this time we're watching more.
We're also picking up Alison from school and watching her for a couple of weeks. Rachael is quitting her job and going to school full time and is in the middle of a big transition herself. (VERY EXCITED FOR HER!!).
So, homeschool, move, packing, dogs, friends, family, church, clogging, choir, piano lessons....we didn't know we could be so busy!
Does that make you laugh too?
just don't forget to breathe somewhere in there :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! I'm breathless just reading it all. Take a deep breath. Moving is crazy in and of itself, let alone all of life's other craziness.
