If you give a girl a camera....

She'll take pictures. And if she takes pictures, she'll think of them sometimes, even when she's not looking at them, and they'll stay in her head, even if they're not on a printed page.

I am thinking of all the cute pictures I have on my camera to put on the blog.  Then I think about how much work (not really) it would take to walk to the camera, take the card out, put it into the computer, and then upload the pictures to the blog.  Then I say to myself, "Ah, who cares anyway?"  I've got them in my head.

I'm thinking about our fun CA/UT vacation. Sean wasn't there, and his presence would have made everything better, not just because our van broke down 60 miles from our CA destination (which was predicted by a few of our family and friends, yes), but because most things are better with him around.  I was thinking about all of the great people we were blessed to see.  Our old and dear friends Terry and Chuck, Kersey and Brooke - it was so fun to spend days (not hours) with them, hanging out, eating good food, reminiscing, talking about nothing.  And then Angela and Loyd and their new baby girl and the Breeland gang - more memories and moments together.  And Janan and family and Erin and family and Kathleen and family - all very short and sweet, but very sweet.  And then Molly and Michael and Naomi....great moments with people we love.  I'll post pictures when I'm feeling less lazy.

I'm thinking about the day last week that the kids and I took a bunch of funny self portraits.  That was really fun. I've never really been into taking pictures of myself, even with other people, but we were in the van, waiting for dance to start, and then waiting for dance to end, and we had a camera, and nothing else to do, and so we took some pictures and laughed, and took some more, and then the kids decorated my hair with flowers while we sat in the grass and ate oranges and carrots.  I will remember these moments because of the pictures.

Pictures are a wonderful thing, even if you don't put them on your blog.  If you give a girl a camera, she'll always have the pictures in her head.
