"She realized she was lucky - because she could actually see it - how the trees got more beautiful each year...how they danced with such graceful pride, surviving each season's change...and she knew their beauty lied not in the perfection, but the growth...and she could see it - in the trees, the people around her, and some days, even in herself...and so she would dance" ~Jodi Hills

Little Dresses
Little dresses for Africa is a sweet organization that we supported with our latest Stake Women's conference. Since I'm not longer in the Fort Collin's Stake, I didn't go, but I really wanted to. :) I know I could have, I just didn't have the time. Loveland Stake Women's Conference is on Saturday, and I will be going to that. None of that info is relevant, except that I made a dress. See - Sadie is wearing it. It's called a "pillow case dress" and they are adorable, but I haven't sewn in a long time, hence the imperfections. Ah well, I am not anywhere near perfect, and I don't think any little 2 year old in Africa will care much. I enjoyed making it, as I did it with love, and imagined the child that would someday soon receive this dress as a gift. I'd love to make more, they are simply done. If you want to try it out, head over here and you can make one yourself. :)

What a great idea. I might even be able to attempt something like that. It might be a good branch RS or stake RS service project we could do here in Florida.
ReplyDeleteI did just through figuring out with a friend (who's a good sewer)an easy bonnet, skirt and apron patterns for our yw and this summer's TREK. Wish us luck.
