We had another fun week of camping, this time at Bellaire Lake. More on that later. We got home yesterday morning and not long after Nicole received an invitation for a playdate with her buddy Sydney. They wanted to go to the movie, and I went with, quite excited as I never seem to have enough time with my kids on a less than 5:1 basis. Tickets were purchased and we walked into the theater when Sydney and Nicole turned to me and Nicole said, "Mom, we want to sit by ourselves." I replied, "You want me to sit all by myself?" Sydney then said, "That's the plan!"
Oh sad day! I gave them their semi-freedom and mourned two rows back. Where does the time go?
Oh Elaine, already? I would have sat with you in the movie. :o) Do you still get to give her kisses in public or is that gone too? Lexy didn't want me to kiss her good-bye the other day at a birthday party. I was hoping it was just a one-time deal, but maybe not. Oh how quickly they grow up. :o(
ReplyDeletesigh.... it does happen!
ReplyDeleteMelica, Nicole is usually very affectionate. She holds hands with me, she's never rejected a good-bye kiss...:( I think that she really wanted the experience of being alone with a friend at the movies (wayyy exciting, right?) and although it made me sad, I get it. Yes, they grow up quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh, how the time flies! I would've let them sit alone...but I would've kept the popcorn bucket! (insert evil laugh...) :)
