"She realized she was lucky - because she could actually see it - how the trees got more beautiful each year...how they danced with such graceful pride, surviving each season's change...and she knew their beauty lied not in the perfection, but the growth...and she could see it - in the trees, the people around her, and some days, even in herself...and so she would dance" ~Jodi Hills

Waldorf Charter School Exploration
This is what we made when we visited Mountain Sage Charter. It was really fun! The kids enjoyed it. I have been researching Waldorf. It's fun to learn and explore new ideas. The kids want to try it out and home to see how they like it. It will bring a lot more structure to our way of homeschooling. I think we need that. Cassidy, Xander and Sadie have been doing COVA this year, and it's been pretty intense. I would like to relax it a bit, and dig a bit deeper into subjects, but not have to mark off a bunch of items on a checklist created by someone else. I think that is the flaw of COVA. 6 to 8 subjects per child per day is too much, especially with multiple children. We are rushing through everything! We are going to finish the year with COVA and then spend the summer planning for next year. In the meantime, we're going to purchase some waldorfy books and read together and come up with something outside of COVA. Nicole and Heidi have just started a literature and history course on Mondays and Fridays. They are excited. We'll see how it goes.
