Learning at Home

One of the things I love about homeschooling is science.  I'm so interested in it all!  And I love doing experiments!  You'd think I was a 4th grader too.  Well, I guess I am, because I am learning all of this stuff over again with Nicole and Heidi.  Yesterday we had a fun lesson that included experimentation.  We learned about mixtures and solutions, solutes and solvents.  What fun to add baking soda to vinegar!
The other thing I love about homeschool is the variety of places in which a child has opportunity to learn.  In some ways, that is a hardship (learning outside in the back yard might turn into playing on the trampoline instead of writing a summary), but mostly, it's just awesome.  Today I found Heidi doing her Literature in this tube, and then Nicole doing her vocabulary in her laundry basket!  Haha!  It's so cute, wouldn't you say?  I love it.

  1. That's really cool! We had school outside today. It was lovely weather, and we pulled TV tables out there and did math while Sariah played on the swings.

  2. SO FUN! I can totally picture you being very much into all of the experiments with your kids:)

Sometimes, it's just more easy to concentrate at homework when you're comfy, in a familiar spot. For example, I'm downstairs in my basement right now, working on some university stuff (well, taking a small break to read your blog) while snuggled up on my couch. Sometimes different just works and change is good:) I love the pictures of Heidi in the tube and Nicole in the laundry basket.

Keep up the great work, Elaine !!!!! :)
