I've been really absent. I have so much I want to blog about - so many cute and funny things, some really great pictures, and some especially wonderful family experiences in Nauvoo. I hope that I can find the time, soon. But for now I have one minute, because Cassidy is begging me to do another math lesson (yes, she really is), and I am learning to love doing school at nighttime. So, in this minute I have one quick thing to blog about for my fellow homeschooling friends. It is this:

I have found the ultimate math curriculum in these books!!! Life of Fred is FUN. Yes, math is fun (well, I always thought so, but my kids - that's a different story). I have been agonizing over which math curriculum I would use this year. I loved the k-12 curriculum that COVA used, but, we're not doing COVA, we're doing our own thing, and so I must choose. This is a hard choice, because they are all expensive, and there are so many approaches to take, and so many people saying this or that about this or that. I've been wringing my hands and putting it off. We haven't talked about math for 5 months (yes, that's true too).
Long story short, I read an article about math last week that shared some can't-live-without math books for homeschoolers and I ordered a few. I got Life of Fred in the mail yesterday, and we've already begun, and it is soooooo fun! And cute, and different. Nicole and Heidi and I talked about math today, and our hope is that we'll all learn to love math.
I'll have to report back and let you know how it's going after a week, and then a month, and then a semester, but I can already tell that this will be a completely different experience than what my children have previously had (suffered through).
I AM SO EXCITED!
Oh, and by the way, our first month of homeschooling our own way: FANTASTIC!! LOVE IT! WE ARE HAVING A GOOD TIME! It's a WHOLE new experience from COVA. A thousand times better.
Now, let's do some math!
So incredibly inspiring. Even to me, not a mother nor having been home-schooled. You're full of energy and hope and positivity, and always put in so much thought and effort and love in what you do. You are certainly passionate about motherhood, and that passion radiates in every which way!
