Tomorrow I'm committed to jogging 13.2 miles. Yes, my first half marathon. I'm on the toilet as I type this (okay, maybe not, but maybe so). Hahahahahaa. I love making myself laugh. I do have a gut ache right now, thinking of it. I'm feeling sick, and short of breath, but I know I've done all that I can up to this point to cross the finish line. So, short of a heart attack, I think I will do just that tomorrow.
Jeannie, Del, Jameson, Nathan and myself are driving up to Idaho Springs and there we'll sleep - hopefully my body will adjust to the elevation. We'll wake up at 4 am, and perform our pre-race rituals of tag teaming with the toilet, showering, eating peanut butter, toast and eggs, and then we will head to Georgetown where we will freeze our bums off while we wait for the starting-line gun shot. Then we're on our way. I'm hoping for a 2 hour and 15 minute finish, but I won't be disappointed if it takes me longer - 2 hours and 30 minutes is acceptable as well, because I just might need to walk. I'm hoping for something good, because we start at elevation 8500 and end at 7500. Sean, Nicole, Heidi and Cassidy will come up in the morning and meet me at the finish line! There is nothing like having your kids cheer you on when you're doing something really hard.
Pray for me, dear friends. :)
Good luck!
